I was the May/June 2020 Artist in Residence at Liverpool Hospital as a part of the Groundswell Project’s Creative Legacy Program.

The Creative Legacy Program is an award winning arts and health experience that  combines storytelling and art making on an acute Palliative Care ward. Through conversation and story-telling exercises, I captured the life stories of people in the last days and weeks of their life in personalised, embroidered artworks, which were then given to the patient and their family as a gift of art and legacy.

Creative Legacy is a unique partnership between Liverpool Hospitals Palliative Care ward in South West Sydney, and The GroundSwell Project, delivered under an MoU. Funded by the Dry July Foundation on the back of funds raised for Liverpool Hospital Cancer Services.

1) Lola (15 acres at Edensor Park. Old Shep plays. Roses, violets, pansies on a cake.)

2) Francesca and Stacey (Proud mother, work hard. She taught me to run into life. The water soothes me.)

3) Eddy (And I just knew I would never let her go. Oh! The view from up here!)

4) I want to hug you but I can’t (created for the nurses of the Palliative care ward after having conversations with them about how the Covid19 pandemic has changed their work)
